With the Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda movie coming out and the last book in the Red Queen series being published in May, 2018 seems to be a good year for books so far. There are lots of good books coming out this year and here are just a few of the ones I’m looking forward to.
The Fates Divide by Veronica Roth (10/4/18). I loved Carve the Mark and was so relieved to hear I wouldn’t have to wait years for the sequel. Besides – who doesn’t like space?
Furyborn by Claire Legrand (22/5/18). I’m a sucker for alternate formats and this books is told from two perspectives.
The stunningly original, must-read fantasy of 2018 follows two fiercely independent young women, centuries apart, who hold the power to save their world…or doom it.
Also, I absolutely love space operas! 🚀 💫
Where I Live by Brenda Rufener (27/2/18). We rarely get YA books that actually talk about poverty and the harsh reality that is homelessness. It’s refreshing to see a book like this and I can’t wait to read it!
My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand (26/6/18). So I haven’t read the first book in the series but I’ve heard so many good things about it. Hopefully, I’ll have read the first one before the sequel comes out.
Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles (20/3/18). This books is in the same vein as The Hate U Give, bringing issues like racial profiling to attention. But while THUG is told by the female friend of a victim, this book is about the young men who actually deal with this.
