How To Introduce Your Blog to Your Family and Friends

So if you’re reading this, I’m guessing you’re at the point in your blogging career you’ve decided to tell your family and friends. Except you’re wondering… how?

If you don’t want to make a complete fool of yourself then keep on reading!

If you don’t want to tell anyone, you don’t have to

Seriously though, you can keep your blog secret from everyone. (Btw, do you want me to write a post on how to remain anonymous as a blogger? Tell me in the comments!)

You’re under no obligation to tell your family and friends. If you don’t feel comfortable with your loved ones knowing just yet then just don’t tell them.

If you tell your friends, be prepared for them to tell their friends

This will happen. If there’s someone at school or work you don’t want finding out about you blogging then maybe tell 2 or 3 trusted friends about your blog.

Don’t be suprised when your parents tell all their friends about it

Believe it or not, your parents are proud of you and are not out to embarrass you.

All of this is new and exciting to them too. It’s only natural that they’ll want to show you off and all your achievements.

Be grateful. You’ll find that they have a larger circle of friends than you and you’ll end up having more page views.

Don’t take teasing so seriously

Quite recently, a friend of mine went on one of my blog posts and read the whole thing back to me. I thought, wow this is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. But I know it’s not actually stupid.
