Hello bookworms! My TBR pile is definitely under control now. But there are still books to be read so unto the post.
The Wide Window by Lemony Snicket
Unrivalled by Alyson Noël
Asking For It by Louise O’Neil
The Ghosts Of Heaven by Marcus Sedgwick
Ok, so that was a short post. Now time for story like I promised!
This was a couple of months ago – back when I was very new to blogging. I knew I definitely wanted to be a book blogger. But, as other book bloggers know, it isn’t the most popular niche to write in.
I was very strict about sticking to only book related content and as you can guess, this caused me a lot of headaches.
My formula was bookish stuff + a lifestyle blogger way of writing = some sort of successful content. Boy was I wrong.
I was creating content that wouldn’t appeal to my target audience and I was really confused. I was spending so much time searching post ideas that I wasn’t even posting anything.
I was under some much stress that I ended up deleting my first blog, Five More Minutes, and going through 2 other failed blogs before ending up with ABGtL.
Finally, I said enough is enough and deleted every single one of my posts. I couldn’t do this anymore but I still wanted to blog. That’s when I learnt one of my most important blogging lessons.
Its okay to branch out of your niche.
